KELSEY GENNA 2014 PREVIEW
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Hello lovelies, I wanted to share some of the work I was commissioned to do by the lovely Kelsey Genna. I adore her bridal designs, each dress is so darling and unique. Her latest collection is absolutely stunning and as a bride to be myself I've been cooing over the petalled dresses and delicate lace detailing on her newest gowns. Perfect.
There are some amazing features on her collection on the WHITE MAGAZINE, and Kelsey's interview with White Magazine, PAPER AND LACE and of course her beautiful website and blog.
For amazing wedding inspiration follow Kelsey's tumblr, it's so pretty.

DO IT FOR THE LOVE
Hello lovelies! Thought I'd share a few snaps of our little date at the cinema and Zizzi's at the beginning of January. We were very kindly given Zizzi cards loaded with enough for some tasty calzone action so thank you to M&G <3 I also spotted the lovely Amyisla's amazing illustrations on our lovely menu! We decided to go after zipping round narrow streets trying to find a car park (turned out it didn't even exist, whaaat?!) we needed to calm down and pizza bread was the best option. After that we headed to the cinema to watch the second edition of the Hobbit, it was amazing! Definitely go and see it <3
Have you got any lovely weekend plans?

SUPER, SUPER FRESH
So you lovelies know how much I love tea, my twitter name is @natashalikestea, so I really love it. My weekend treat and absolute must is the super delicious everyday brew from Teapigs. I usually pop one of their silky tea triangles into a huge Cath Kidston mug, this makes for an epic tea which lasts a while. It always makes me happy, sometimes I'll have to make another just because it's so yummy! You can always find me illustrating away in my studio with a mug of this. This tea is amazing with breakfast or on a rainy afternoon, it's a great pick me up and I've been sharing it with everyone I know. I've tried some of their other delectable flavours too and I adore their chocolate flake tea, which makes a super healthy alternative to the classic tea and biscuit/ chocolate bar combination. I don't know how Teapigs do it, but they are definitely top of the all time best cups of tea! Thanks Teapigs for making such a fab product! They're on twitter too, catch up with all things tea on there.
I'm always on the lookout for lovely teas so if you know any other great brands like Teapigs I'd love to hear about them and give them a go.

JAYMIE
Lovely Jaymie from By Jaymie has whipped up a gorgeous feature about my work and the illustration package I sent her. I illustrated a portrait of the super beaut Jaymie and her adorable kitty cat Gatsby, how sweet is he? Jaymie's blog is darling, with picturesque posts about the sweetest things, love her latest one about Bath and you can find all her beautiful illustrations and creations nestled amongst them. I can't wait to get her pretties in the post and share them with you lovelies. I'm sure you already read her sweetheart blog but if not go and read with a cup of tea, it's charming.

| LANA DEL REY ILLUSTRATED PRINT Happy Friday lovelies! What are your exciting plans for the weekend? I have no idea what we're going to do but if the weather is good then hopefully a country walk under a blanket of rainclouds (like Kate Winslet in Sense & Sensibility) I've been obsessively framing my illustrated prints, some frames are on order and I'm super excited about them! I just want to collect art and pretty illustrations and have frame walls in my house so this is my mission for this year. I'm working on some really awesome projects at the moment and I will share those when I can. There's still 20% off custom illustrated blog headers and custom illustrated portraits until the end of January. I'm taking commissions now but my diary is filling up so get in there if you'd like one! I'm also available to do couples portraits and I can create a custom listing for you on etsy if you'd like <3 Also, free shipping today because it's friday with coupon code TGIFTGIF so let's all put Katy Perry on and dance like it's Friday night |

WE'RE NEVER DONE WITH KILLING TIME
Hello lovelies, how are you today? Any good plans for the weekend? I'm finding January half good and exciting, a fresh start and all that but then the other half is just this huge pending gloom, mountains of work and jobs that keep mounting up and just generally feeling a little glum. But it doesn't have to be that way, I'm finding taking little steps to help organise my day, taking on smaller tasks makes things found much less daunting. I've found myself having this constant collection of desk essentials which help me through the busy of days.
IPAD ♥ this amazing little device is the mini version which I kindly and very generously given to me for Christmas by my lovely fiancee Matt. His thoughts behind this were that it would help me with all my freelance work as well as being super handy or catching up with episodes of Sherlock on the bbc iplayer app, the power of technology! I've found it so helpful, it's like a bigger version of my phone but I'm able to do so much more without it being restrictive or miniscule. It's a great way of staying connected with social media too, it's like a diary, youtube viewer, blog updater, sketchbook, inspiration portal all in one! Well done, Apple.
BENETINT lip balm ♥ ooh this is totally brilliant, it's a hydrating companion (what?!) and if I find myself looking ghostly pale or in need of a quick injection of lip balm then this baby is always on hand.
MINI SCHEDULER ♥ I picked up this adorable little diary from Artbox many moons ago, yep I'm one of those stationery hoarders! I have shelves and shelves of pretty paper books and cards that I just can't bring myself to write in, it's like psyching yourself up to jump off something high or plunge into a cold pool (is that just me as well?) Anyway, these mini schedulers are blank, genius! So they never run out and you can be as precious or as messy as you like because you fill them in for the month/ year that's relevant to you. This one is exceptionally tiny, so it's probably not great for those of us who have big handwriting, you have to have handwriting the size of a baby bunny's paw. But they're still great, they come in loads of sizes too so there's one for everyone. Perfect for dropping in your bag and you've always got somewhere to write your notes/ ideas/ dates/ meetings etc!
There's also usually a scattering of mechanical pencils (which I love) on my desk, along with tea in a Disney cup of choice, stacks of the latest magazines, and lost nail varnishes (where do they come from?)
I'd love to hear about items you find helpful, what gets you through the day whether it's busy or chilled? Share your desk essentials!

THIS IS WHAT MAKES US GIRLS
GIRLS by thesecretteaparty
Happy Tuesday lovelies! I wanted to share some things I've been loving so far this month, some of these I actually don't possess yet but they are definitely on my wish list and I've been lusting after them!
The notebook in all its pastel pink glory is by ClapClapDesign on etsy, I adore the design with the illustrated animals, the size is also just too perfect, I love popping little notebooks in my bag or having a stack of them to hand on my bedside table (does anyone else find inspiration/idea/reminders hit you in the middle of the night?)
I'm loving bright, pastel nails, in fact I can't get enough of all the Topshop nail colours, I think I have a slight addiction (I desperately need to buy another clear acrylic nail polish storage stand to store all the stray bottles, what is that all about?!)
Lorde's Pure Heroine is an album I cannot stop listening to, that's not a bad thing though, although my dancing/singing to it playing in hmv proved slightly embarrassing. My lovely OT bought this for me (thanks, Matt!) and it's been played over and over, it's one of those cds I can't leave the house with *cue mini road trip singing to all the tracks*
Now, I don't own this particular record player, or any record player *puts it higher on wishlist* but it's just perfect and after spying it in Urban Outfitters over December I've fallen head over heels for this floral beauty and wanting to buy all those pretty records for it, you know the ones I mean.
These shoes are basically what you'd find on my tootsies as a little girl with mega long hair and frilly ankle socks, and you know what, I want them back in my life. They're amazing, they're super cute, they make me want to wear tea dresses, braid my hair and make daisy chains lying in the grass whilst listening to the Virgin Suicides dreamy soundtrack. Ohh yeah.
Girls, the tv show, it's genuis. If you haven't seen it yet, I won't include any spoilers but only suggest that you immediately add it to your wish/watchlist because you're sure to love it! It's quirky, it's super honest, it's different, it's pretty and grungy at the same time. I love the characters, I love the soundtrack and since last January I've had the urge to dance around my bedroom to Dancing On My Own, cheers Lena Dunham, you're awesome.

WE MIGHT BE HOLLOW, BUT WE'RE BRAVE
Loving all the dresses worn by all the beauts at the Golden Globes, did you lovelies have any favourites? I adore Kaley Cuoco's floral gown, Jennifer Lawrence's simple but elegant attire, gorgeous sequin detailing on Zooey Deschanel's dress and the vibrant super girly number worn by Lena Dunham. I've started a collection of illustrations inspired by all these lovely ladies, including a few more and they may even appear in the shop.
