WHAT I LOVE/ FEBRUARY

It's the month of love hearts and sweethearts, pink and red, roses and love stories. So I thought I'd share the five products I've loved this month, four of which are beauty. One isn't actually mine but I'll get to that in a second.

The first was a gift from my lovely friend, who knows how much I adore Soap and Glory and their super pink girly packaging. Sugar Crush is a generous 500ml body wash which has the subtle scent of sweet lime, it's amazing to give you that zingy, fresh, awake feeling that I know I always need in the mornings (no, I'm not a morning person). The bottle is actually pink, not the product which is a milky white and a little foams a long way. Perfect size to keep in the shower and it makes your bathroom look oh so retro.

Phoenix from Lush, oh Lush why do you tempt me with your divine bubble bars and bath ballistics promising a scented potion in my bath that I never want to leave. I bought this because it instantly made me think of Daenerys and her dragons from Game Of Thrones. The unique purple and gold colour powdering this ballistic was so beautiful and evoked memories of reading those epic chapters in GOT. It scents the bathroom heavily with gorgeous spicy cinnamon.

Whoosh also from Lush is the product that isn't actually mine, it's my boyfriend's. I bought this for him as I know how much he loves Big Blue and is a huge fan of the lemon, lime and seaweed combination. Whoosh is a fresh, blue shower jelly that has seaweed in it to keep your skin super soft.  This is very similar to Big Blue, it's a very similar oceanic colour and fresh smell, only it's one that can be used and kept in the shower! Hoorah! The jelly formula is fab as it can be stored anywhere- you can even freeze it. The packaging is really cute and keeps the jelly from slipping away.

The last (but by no means least!) two products are from Topshop, they are both nail varnishes, but I had to include them because they are so pretty and I've been wearing both (alternately) non stop.
The neon orange is New Wave, a gift from my sweet friend and I absolutely love it! It goes with anything, clashing and complimentary colours. It applies so smoothly and two coats is all you need for a long lasting pop of colour that lasts really well.

The pretty pink bottle of varnish is called Keepin' It Sweet, Topshop always seem to have such beautiful nail colours it almost becomes hard to pick one. I thought the name of this was great, it tickled me, I don't know why, I'm easily amused. I adore the colour of this, it's like a strawberry milkshake. It goes on really smoothly, I wore it with two coats and a slick of clear topcoat to keep my nails looking rad. Love it.

Let me know if you liked this post, if you do I'd love to do more in the future <3 font="" x="">

ROMEO + JULIET SOUNDTRACK

Photobucket

Hello lovelies, well yesterday was rather lovely wasn't it! The sun came out so we thought it would be good to get some fresh air and sunshine. It was just nice to get out of the house and have a wander, I actually found some film soundtracks that I've been *hankering* (too much Big Bang Theory? thanks, Sheldon!) after, The Lost Boys was one of them, Romeo + Juliet vol.1 & vol.2, Kill Bill vol.1 & Moulin Rouge. We had lunch out, which we don't often do because of lack of pennies but sometimes it's just nice and you appreciate it when it's not very often. I exchanged an online order for these tan beauties and some really cute 'Oui' 'Non' earrings, I wanted to buy all the jewellery in Topshop & nail polish! ♥

Tomorrow we're going to see Blood Red Shoes, so it's something lovely to look forward to & possibly The Avengers before. We managed to get tickets for Ladyhawke too, who I love, her music is such an inspiration when I'm in my studio illustrating. I've been illustrating lately too, you can get free shipping with code RAINYDAY on all items in my etsy shop

CHRISTMAS BLOG: FAYE WEST ♥

My favourite red haired lovely Faye West has been super festive and kind enough to share some of her gorgeous gift ideas, tales of ballgowns and glittering gold tops, inspiring nostalgia with talk of 90's pop and retro Christmas films, all topped off with a snowy snippet of last year's icing sugar Christmas. I also love her idea of the ideal Christmas! So grab your cup of hazelnut-laden hot chocolate & a gingerbread man or mince pie and read on to discover the festivities of Faye! ♥

What do you like to do to get in the Christmas spirit? It's the Christmas songs that start making me feel a bit fuzzy inside, I actually started listening to Christmas albums mid November this year. All the bells and tinkles, the joy and the fa-la-la-lahs.

Can you share some Christmas picks? (what's on your wish list?)
I already treated myself to the top of my wishlist. I have been after some red suede or velvet platforms for a while now, and had my eye on some lovely Topshops raspberry pink ones with a satin bow. I trawled London from East to West one Saturday whilst visiting, from 8am til 6. And found these at the end when I have nearly given up hope! So they shall come out again or the office Christmas party. http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_58958+2417252789_-1?breadcrumb=Home~Women I still would like some red shoes though!

Do you have a favorite Christmas film?
Bad Santa. I was introduced to it one Christmas I spent with friends who hosted a RockMas, we had a black tree, decorated with pumpkin lights, an alternative Christmas soundtrack and Bad Santa which makes me chuckle so much. Plus Billy Bob is rather appealing!

What would be on your Christmas mixtape?
Maria's firstly because it reminds me of being 12 (1996!) and in New Look picking out a gold sparkly vest top for the school Christmas Disco. Spice Girls 2 Become 1 (http://youtu.be/FA5jsa1lR9c), some Slade and Wizzard for childhood memories, Rockin Around the Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell rock AND FINALLY Nat king Cole's The Christmas Song. Me and my brother also love music from the films Big and Home Alone so we shall have that on in the background for Christmas Dinner.

What's your ideal Christmas present?
something that keeps you occupied throughout the day, like a gadget!

What do you like to do on Christmas eve?
I actually don't mind that am normally always working as you end up being around everyone with that buzz of looking forward to getting home for an alcoholic beverage and your 56th mince pie. At one point before I went to Uni, in my home town, I was working in a clothes shop wth my Mum, best friend, her Mum, her Mum's best friend, another college friend, and it was when Monsoon made us where eveningwear as uniform so was I wearing a ballgown to work!

What would be your idea of the perfect Christmas day?
New York City with friends and loved ones :)
Faye's glittering christmas stories have inspired me to put more sparkle on top of all that I do this Christmas! Thank you for sharing lovely!

LOVELY DRESSES ♥ ♥ ♥

some of my favourites from Topshop at the moment, which i'm ordering monday when i get pennies- Mustard dress with beautiful vintage embroidery is adorable and effortless, a nautical navy t shirt dress would be perfect for ice lolly eating and pebble skimming on hot summer's days and the fifties style chambray dress with leather belt is super lovely for late drinks after work when the sun is still peeking over rooftops. The pretty coral nail varnish is called No Love Lost and it's a colour I'd wear all summer long ♥
